END TIME (PART 3)

BIBLE STUDY

THEME:  ENDTIMES (3)
TOPIC:    SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST

Introduction

The Second Coming is when Jesus Christ will return to earth in fulfillment of His promises and to fulfill the prophecies made about Him. Jesus Himself promised, "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory" (Matthew 24:30).

Those who witnessed Christ's ascension into heaven after his death and resurrection heard the angels declare in Acts 1:11, "Men of Galilee…why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

Our study today is to enable us know what the bible reveals about upcoming events and how to live as faithfuls awaiting the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Conclusion

The Bible teachings about the second coming of Christ are not given to us merely to inform us of what the future holds. We are meant to use this knowledge to prepare ourselves for his coming. At his coming, “He will reward each according to his works." (Matt 16:27). In Rev 22:12 we have the words of Jesus Christ say, "And behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me, to give everyone according to his work."
Jesus wants us to "keep watch." A great way to keep watch is to know what the Bible reveals about upcoming events and compare those to what we see happening today so that we will not be deceived.

Memory verse

Matt. 24:44 - “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man                             cometh”.
