Introduction

Christians from the earliest times have believed that a future time will come when there will be a day of judgment for all humanity. Also known as the Last Judgment, when God will at that time judge all human beings (both the dead and the living) because of the notion of daily sin and original sin. Every single human will deserve punishment, that is, eternal damnation in hell. But because of Jesus' death and resurrection, those who believe in him and his act of salvation will receive God's mercy and enter into an eternal life in heaven.

           

Our study today is to understand what God’s judgment is and its principles so that we can order our lives accordingly to avoid damnation.

2.                When is the Judgment day? Matt. 24:36-44; 2Pet. 3:10

3.                What activities will precede God’s judgment day? Matt. 24:6-12,37-39;

             2Tim 3:1-5; 2Pet. 3:3.  Are they happening?

4.                What will be the set-up of and conduct on the Judgement day? Rev. 20:11-14, Ps.96:13.

5.                Who are those to be condemned to Hell? Rev. 20:15; Gal. 5:19-21, 2Thess. 2:12; 2Jn 1:9; Jude 1:5; I Corin.6:9-12

6.                Who are those to be qualified to Heaven? 1Jn 2:15-17, 24, 27; James 1:12; 2Tim.4:6-8.

7.                What do the following passages narrate about the Judgment day? Matt. 13:47-50; Matt. 25:31-34.

  

8.                What should be our attitude from now onwards concerning the Judgment day? Eph.6:10-18; 2Tim. 2:3-4; 1Thess.5:21; Lk. 21:36.

Conclusion

The Judgment day will be both glorious and a fearful day- a day of reckoning for all people before the Creator. As Christians we are called to a life of righteousness since everybody’s life and works will be tested and tried on the Judgment day. We should be telling people about Jesus and the day, so they can escape the terrible fate awaiting them.  Are you ready for Heaven?
