CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE (Part 3)
What are the marital
duties of Man and Woman
Ephesians
5:22-33: 22Wives, submit yourselves
unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.23: For the husband is the
head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the
saviour of the body.24: Therefore as the church is subject unto
Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.25:
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave
himself for it;26: That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the
washing of water by the word, 27: That he might present it to
himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but
that it should be holy and without blemish.28: So ought men to love
their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.29:
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even
as the Lord the church: 30: For we are members of his body, of his
flesh, and of his bones.31: For this cause shall a man leave his
father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one
flesh.32: This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and
the church.33: Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so
love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
1Peter
3:1-7: 1Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your
own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be
won by the conversation of the wives;2: While they behold your
chaste conversation coupled with fear.3: Whose adorning let it not
be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of
putting on of apparel;4: But let it be the hidden man of the heart,
in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit,
which is in the sight of God of great price.5: For after this manner
in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves,
being in subjection unto their own husbands:6: Even as Sara obeyed
Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and
are not afraid with any amazement. 7: Likewise, ye husbands, dwell
with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the
weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your
prayers be not hindered.
1Timothy 5:14: I
will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house,
give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
Colossians 3:18-19: 18Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the
Lord.19: Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
1Corinthians 7:3-4: Let
the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife
unto the husband. 4:The wife hath not power of her own body, but the
husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the
wife.5: Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for
a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together
again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

Proverb 5:18-19: 18Let
thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. 19:
Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at
all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

1Corinthians 7:13-16: 13And
the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to
dwell with her, let her not leave him.14: For the unbelieving
husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by
the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.15:
But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not
under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.16: For
what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest
thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
Disputes should be settled

Ephesians 4:26-27: Be ye
angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:27:
Neither give place to the devil.
The Devil, like a roaring lion is
moving to and fro to devour; to destroy any good thing that God has made.
Marriage is no exception because when he destroys marriage, he breaks the
family and society as a whole thereby creating bitterness, adulterous society,
way-ward children and the like. Be wise and not let your marriage be destroyed
by anger.
There is always regret after.
