GROWING INTO MATURITY: LESSON 9- DISCIPLESHIP: QUALITIES REQUIRED AND THE CHALLENGES INVOLVED

INTRODUCTION
Most often, many converts have been left unattended to, as of neglect on the part of those who witnessed to them. In the Great Commission, Jesus Christ, the Great teacher, did not only command us to win souls for Him, but to disciple those who believe, through teaching and training of these converts (Matt. 28:18-20). By these, the converts grow and in turn bring others up in the Lord.
What do you think of a woman who brings forth a child and abandons it? The obvious answer is that she is wicked; such is any Christian who does not disciple the converts.

This lesson is meant to teach you how to disciple others.

A.     DEFINITION OF DISCIPLESHIP
Discipleship is the art (way or skill) of bringing up dedicated followers who hold on the beliefs of a leader or religious leaders thought ,so that they can also propagate these beliefs by practicing them and telling others about their contents.
a)         Who is a disciple?
b)         When does discipleship begin and end?

B.     SOME QUALITIES OF THE TEACHER
CASE STUDIES:  JESUS CHRIST, PAUL

2.    Luke 16:12 & 13;   2 Tim. 2:2

4.    Matt. 14:14-16;   John 11:32-35;   Phil. 3:15-18

C.     CHALLENGES IN DISCIPLESHIP

  1. Have a strategy (1 Cor. 9:26-27)

  3. Supplement your faith (1 Cor. 9:27;   2 Pet. 1: 5-8)
